Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller picks up right after the ending of the last book, and starting right from the beginning, you are thrown into a book full of action, adventure, and some drama. It is full of everything you could want from a pirate book, and more. The minute I picked this book up, I was completely hooked back into this world, and I flew through this book in no time. This book was much more emotional than the first novel had been, and at times, I was in need of some tissues.
Alosa is a kick-butt heroine, with sass and attitude, but also a kind and loving nature. She puts others before herself, and is completely loyal and devoted to her crew and friends. Throughout the novel, you meet and care for the members of the Ava-lee. Every side character is unique and many of them grow on you, as you get to know more about them that you were able to from the first novel. Returning characters from Daughter of the Pirate King, Enwen and Kearan are still some of my favorite characters, along with Riden. I absolutely love Riden, and I love the relationship he has with Alosa, because you can see the chemistry between the two of them. You learn more about the sirens in this story, getting to meet Alosa's mother, who is the Siren Queen.
I am sad that this is the completion of this duology, but at the same time, I was very satisfied with how this novel had ended - minus the heartbreaking moments of the novel. I would highly recommend this book if you are a fan of fantasy and/or pirate novels.
